Will my child get the courses that he has requested?
Although the high school makes every attempt to accommodate student course requests, there are times when the number of requests out number the spaces available. We have asked all students to choose alternates for those courses that indicate (Alt 9) in the course catalog.

When will my child receive their 9thgrade schedule?
Your child’s final schedule will be posted via KS Connect during the summer. Prior to the release of any student’s schedule, all required paperwork and financial obligations must be cleared.

How can I check my child’s requests?

Your child’s list of course requests are available in KS Connect.

What if my child has been recommended for multiple Honors courses?

Congratulations! Your child’s hard work has paid off. However, this does not mean that all honors courses need to be selected. During our guidance classes we have been informing eligible students to consider taking two honors courses during their Freshman Year. There are some students who would like to take a more challenging schedule. If this is the case, please have your child make an appointment to meet with his counselor.
Please review the Honors Diploma Criteria in The Catalog of Courses. This can provide you with more information in your decision-making process.
***Recommendations may be changed based on student performance in the remainder of the school year.

What if my child plans to attend Summer School?

The students have been advised to build their year's schedule without summer school plans. Summer School courses are of high demand and all requests are subject to space availability. Additionally, our 8th graders will be the last of KS students to register for high school courses, as priority is given to upper classmen. Therefore, the course they are interested in may not be available. Once summer courses are secured via registration, adjustments may need to be made to their year's schedule. Please have your child work with your counselor in selecting summer school courses. If coursework will be completed outside of KS, it is recommended that you first check with your child's counselor to ensure that credit will be awarded by KS. To print a brochure, click here:
